We left our house at 4:30 am and got to Children's Hospital about 5:15. We checked in and Henna started having a ton of seizures. She had about 15-20 by the time the doctors started her IV. Sno has been absolutely superb! She has been so calm. Sno was very worried when we got to ICU and Henna was crying and hyperventilating. She jumped up on the side of the bed and Henna was able to pet her. There isn't much room on her bed right now so Sno has not gotten on it. Tomorrow they move Henna to a regular room. Chris is going to stay with her tomorrow night and I'll go home
and regroup. The doctor said Henna's brain is small because of her traumic brain injury. She said the injury caused her brain to grow slowly. When she was separating the callosum the Doctor said it was harder to separate because the brain had bled from her injury in 2000 and had fused with the callosum. This made it a little tougher to separate. Tomorrow she'll have an MRI and it will show the callosotomy. The doctor said it's about 90% separated. The callosum curves on both ends and it's hard to reach where it curves under the brain. Thank you for all your prayers. We truly appreciate it! God has had extra angels on duty to watch over Henna and I know she will recover and have relief from her seizures.
Jan - I pray that those extra angels call in even more "extra angels" to watch over beautiful Henna. Thank you for sharing with us.... my heart is so heavy hearing what the Dr. had to say.
ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray for Henna's recovery and relief from the seizures.
