Henna will be attending the Cinderella Ball this year on June 2nd in Washington DC. It is an annual event put on for disabled youth in our area. We hadn't done it before because her seizures were so bad. They will have Mary Mary, a gospel duo, for entertainment. The motivational speaker will be Eric LaGrand. He was paralyzed while playing football for Rutgers University. The girls will be escorted by a Marine soldier under the Marine sabers when entering The Willard Hotel in DC and the soldiers will be at the ball to dance with the youth. There will be a dinner , prizes, and a lot of fun!
The House, Inc. sponsors the event and they have Cinderella's Closet where Henna went and shopped for a gown and accessories. She tried on about 7 dresses and FINALLY decided on a light pink dress. It fit her like a glove. They even had women there to alter the dresses if need be. Once the girls decided on a dress they were escorted down the red carpet to show off. Henna glowed!
(I know...the sports bra has to go!)
