We had a great 4th of July spending time with my son's wife and our two grandsons. We went to Becky's parent's house for a barbecue and swam at their community pool. Our son is deployed so Becky brought the boys up from Kentucky.
That evening we went to our friend's house and enjoyed the fireworks at their place on the lake. By far the best show to date. Chris had fireworks for Henna and she did her thing. We got home at 10:00 and she was SO tired!
At 12:00 midnight Chris yelled at me asking if Henna had fallen out of bed. She hadn't. I thought someone had set off some fireworks. We looked outside and our neighbor's truck was engulfed in flames. He had set off fireworks two hours earlier and then soaked them in water. He then set them in his garbage can which he put by the truck in the street for garbage day. Apparently there was still a smoldering ember and it caught on fire. Thankfully, the firemen put the blaze out before it hit the gas tank or we would have had a terrible disaster. So much excitement for one day!
I must start thinking about getting ready for Ohio. We leave on the 16th for 10 days to Xenia, Ohio where Henna will get her new dog. Still no word on which dog Henna is getting as her new service dog. Keep watching for updates. We could know any day.
We'll know more on whether Henna will have surgery after our meeting on the 12th with the neurosurgeon. Chris is more skeptical about the corpus callosotomy than I am. I feel the time is right and we should act on it now. Prayers please!
We have had a new foster daughter since June 15th but she may be leaving soon to live with a possible adoptive family. We have enjoyed having her and she's made progress in such a short time. I'm sorry we won't have more time with her. God's hand is definitely in this so I continue to give it over to Him. I'll do my part...
