Day #6 of Training with Snoball

This morning Snoball jumped on the bed and saw herself in the mirror.  She stood there for a minute then crouched down as if to play.  She was hysterical.

Henna and Sno are developing quite a bond.  Snoball licked all over Henna's mouth, ear, and rubbed her body all over her again today.  45 minutes later Henna had a seizure.  She's alerting earlier with each day.  Henna still has a hard time letting Snoball smell and lick her face.  Henna does NOT like any drool!  When Henna has a seizure and Sno hasn't alerted, Sno will smell Henna and that's it.  We are working on getting her to bark.  When they practice a seizure it's more of a shaking seizure that Sno barks at.  Henna's seizures aren't always with a lot of movement.
We worked on distractions today and Jeremy put down toys, food, stuffed animals, etc. to distract the dogs.  Sno did well until we passed the bacon treats.  She tried to grab them but I got a correction off before she could.  Go Jan!

Alex and Dewey.  Dewey has the best job.  Making Alex happy!!!

Leah and Yodel

Today we practiced "under".  We will use this in a restaurant to get the dog out of the way while we eat.  Sno did well.

Jeremy worked on behavior disruption.  Mindy's boy chews his nails and when he does that Mindy is to go nuzzle him to disrupt the chewing.  You can use the nuzzle for just about any behavior.
We went to the mall again today. Sno was calmer and heeled well.  She is a great scent dog and does like to "scent " while heeling.  I just correct her and she comes back into a good heel.
Henna has decided Jeremy is her new best friend.  She gets fixated on people so now it's Jeremy's turn.  I told Jeremy's wife that she has competition now.  Ha!  We're off to a picnic at one of our classmate's house.  Everyone is bringing their dog.  This should be interesting...
