I called Jeremy, the head trainer, and Karen, the CEO of 4 Paws, and they said that Leo's bond with Henna is so strong that he feels he has to protect her. They said it happens and even if they place Leo with someone else he would do it then too. They are going to give Henna another dog who is more sensitive and can serve her better. Jeremy said they are having good results with Standard Poodles and seizure work. Leo isn't interested in Henna's seizures either. He's a great companion dog but is stubborn and headstrong like Henna. They are two peas in a pod. We are sad and torn.
We were told we may keep Leo but I worry how he will react when there is another dog Henna is giving attention to. Plus Leo has so much to offer a child I hate to not have someone else have him. Chris wants to keep him. That would be three big dogs in our home! I really want the best for Leo.
